Creating Deals
Deals Created by RPD
Deals created by RPD Admin are available for all users to see. This usually comes in the form of Store Tracker deals, which do not usually have lease information, although will usually contain contact information so that you can reach out to the agent or landlord to find out more.
Some deals added by RPD Admin may include lease inforamtion if it is available.
Deals Created by Users
Users can also create deals. This is useful for tracking your own deals and keeping a record of your own transactions and building your own comparable database.
Deals created by users are private and only visible to the user who created the deal. This is except of lettings and sub-lettings, whereby the tenant name, address and contacts are public, but all other data is private. This works with the same ethos of Public and Private Data.
When to create deals
You should only create a deal when a deal has been observed, i.e. a property transaction has taken place.
If the existing data for a property is simply inaccurate or missing, do not create a deal, instead, simply edit the property to correct or add the missing data.
It’s important to only create deals when a property transaction has taken place. This is to ensure that when searching through past deals, we only see legitimate property transactions that have taken place, i.e. there is market data available for the location.
How to create deals
Recording a deal is quick and easy. You can do this from any page by clicking the new deal button at the top right of the page and then selecting the respective deal type.
Alternatively, you can create deals from the scheme or property view, by pressing the create deal button on the deals tab.
Once you have pressed the button, simply follow the wizard to create the deal.
You will also be prompted to create a new deal when an enquiry is set as being completed in the Enquiry Manager.
Store Tracker Deal
We are tracking retailers for their opening and closing stores.
Whenever a new store is found, we will record it as a new deal. This will be deal type Store Tracker
as we cannot be sure if it was an assignment or a new letting.
Viewing Deals
On the map
Viewing deals on the map is a great way to see where there has been market activity, as it can quickly point you towards contacts that may have comparable evidence.
To view deals on the map, you must create a new filter. Please check out the map documentation for further information.
Deals page
The deals page (in the main menu) provides you with a list of deals in RPD. You can filter the deals by type, status, and date range to find the deal you are looking for.
